More Than Just an Art Event
Why bother opening up Cherry Bomb Studio every month to a small community? There’s no art scene in Lancaster Ontario! I’m thrilled to share the story behind our “Cocktails & Canvases” evenings at Cherry Bomb Studio because I believe glass ceilings are meant to be broken.
If you joined us for the last event, you already know what a fantastic time we had breaking down barriers, celebrating rural creativity, drinking Sangria and embraces the bold spirit of Bougie Punk. For those who couldn’t make it, here’s a little bit about what you missed and why these gatherings are so important to our artistic community.
Breaking Down Barriers in the Art World
Art shouldn’t be confined to elite galleries or urban centers. For too long, gatekeepers have controlled access to high-quality art, making it seem like an exclusive privilege rather than a universal right. At Cherry Bomb Studio, we’re here to disrupt that outdated notion. Art is for everyone, and our “Cocktails & Canvases” evenings are about making art accessible and celebrating our shared creativity.
Celebrating Rural Creativity and High Value
Being in a rural area doesn’t mean we’re missing out on the vibrant art scene. In fact, our unique setting enhances our creativity and community spirit. These events prove that rural does not mean inferior—it means genuine, bold, and unapologetically unique. We believe that every person has high value and deserves to experience and create exceptional art.
Embracing the Bougie Punk Spirit
My Bougie Punk movement is all about blending elegance with edge, sophistication with rebellion. My “Cocktails & Canvases” evenings bring together a diverse group of people who share a passion for art and life, challenging societal norms, celebrating individuality and let’s not for get the “spirits” COCKTAILS!!! Every month comes with a cocktail of the month. It’s high brow meets low brow meets I really don’t care what you think.
Your taste is your taste. If you like it then no one else’s opinion should matter.
At our recent event, we shared fantastic conversations, laughter, and delicious Sangria. Our planned 4 PM to 7 PM session stretched to 9 PM because of the incredible energy. Come as you are and stay for the loud music, terrible jokes and cocktails! I ‘ve got three boozy delights to choose curtesy of Elton John‘s annual Oscars viewing party…. I’m thinking I’ll go with Belvy and The Jets.
What’s Next: Movie Night Featuring “Rocketman”
This month’s open studio will be a movie night because one of my collectors hasn’t seen “Rocketman,” yet….WHATTT??! So we are bringing out the big screen and enjoying some drinks inspired by Elton John’s star studded Oscar party. Open studio is from 4-8PM. Movie starts at 6PM.
It’s on the last Friday of the month, every month, so mark your calendars.
