FIRST: Conceptualization Of Your Commission

1. Contact Me 
2. I will respond within 42HRS to your email and ask fir more specific details. This is when we explore your vision for the painting.
3. Pricing, and timeline sent for approval IF I decide to take the commission along with a contract. This process can take a day or a week as we iron out the specifics.  * There is no guarantee that I will take the commission.*

SECOND: Commission Preparation Steps

4. Once approved and the contract is singed,  I will create an invoice based on our payment plan agreement, (50% none refundable to begin the commission process).  
5. I will also set a payment plan based on mutual agreement. 
6. Order Materials for completion of the project. When sourcing specific components, this may be communicated with you for approval. 
7. Once all materials have arrived, the space is prepared for your project.

Depending on the agreed-upon timeline, this process can take several days or weeks.

FINAL: Watching Your Portrait Come to Life

7. REVISION & REVIEW: A rough… very rough… sketch will be sent for approval prior to starting the piece any minor revisions can be made at this point but not once starting the final.  The purpose of a commission is to have an original Sara Leger and therefore; the art will be in her style with her artistic vision in mind.

8. Final photo + shipping arranged. Upon completion the piece can be shipped once fully payed (NON REFUNDABLE)

This process will take as long as the time agreed upon to complete the commission.

I will work within your budget if possible. Send me an inquiry for a quote. There is no obligation. We treat every commission like the work of art it is (whether it is a $1000 or a $100,000 commission). Commissions vary in price based on the materials used – oil, acrylic,ink, paper, canvas, gold etc.), size, simplicity or complexity, and subject matter. You are part of the process! Emotion and feeling are so crucial in the creation of art. I would love to hear your why?

• Pet portraits: I paint primarily from photo reference. Please provide several clear photos.  The best photos are those with emotion and that have meaning to you NOT JUST PRETTY photos.
• Previous original painting that I have sold: If you’d like me to recreate an original similar to an sold work, I’ll work from that original to be inspired.  The painting will not be a replica but a new version especially created for you! 
• One OF A Kind: Send images of art, photos, colours and especially older works of mine that resonated with you and let them inspire me. 

OH MY YES!  This is very common and I will jump at the opportunity to create a one of a kind for you.

The likely hood of that happening is fairly low if you are looking for ME TO CREATE MY ART IN MY STYLE.  

The initial email – when compiling answers via our initial questionnaire- we will work out if we are the right fit.  I don’t just accept everyone.

* You are commissioning an ORIGINAL SARA LEGER which means the art will be in my style and created from my artistic vision.*

Feedback is encouraged in the SKETCHING stage of the process, when we hammer out a sketch but most importantly you have to like the style I create!

If everything goes to sideways then I keep my 50% non refundable deposit for the cost of supplies, my time and years of experience, you forfeit the art and we go on our merry ways.  Though this has NEVER happened.
